  1. Folks,
  2. The response to my inquiries about who will be attending the Amsterdam 
  3. IETF has indicated that only a few of you will be able to make it.
  4.  
  5. I still expect to be there, and will attempt to arrange a session on 
  6. IMAP, if nothing else to gather input from folks who cannot normally 
  7. attend IETF mtgs.  However, it is clear that several of the key players 
  8. will not be there, so the July IETF session will not attempt to do any
  9. detail design work.

  11. Accordingly, John Myers (CMU) and I have been talking about holding a 
  12. working group meeting in the U.S., sometime in August.  
  13.  
  14. Questions:
  15.   -Who would be able to come?
  16.   -Would more people be able to come to a mtg at UW or CMU?
  17.   -Is two days the right length to plan for?
  18.   -What part of the week is preferred?  (beginning, middle, end)
  19.  
  20. Note that INET93 and Interop are in San Francisco the weeks of 8/16 and
  21. 8/23, so it can't be during those weeks unless we want to try to piggyback
  22. the mtg on one of those.  (I have no idea what would be involved in
  23. finding a room to use, but would imagine the INET sponsors might be
  24. helpful.)

  26. The week of 8/9 is the earliest I could participate... and I probably 
  27. have a slight bias for holding it at UW so that more of our team could 
  28. participate, but we should pick the place where the greatest number of
  29. workers can attend.
